Set default record type for profiles

Hello SFDC Diggers…Another day with the hope of getting more and more from SFDC Mines, So today in this blog we will list out the ways to set the default record type for the profiles…So let’s get into it.

Number of ways to set the default record type

  1. While creating the record type
  2. From profiles

While creating the record type

When the record type is created it provide an option to set it as default for the profiles.

Example: There are four record type already created for case object, Now let’s create fifth one and will see the option to set it as default within the step process.

This is the first way to set the default record type for profiles.

From Profiles

Now, We will set the record type A as default record type for the system administrator profiles.

Go to Profiles < Record Type Settings < Click on the edit link of an object.

Change the default record type from the drop-down of default as highlighted in image.

This is the another way to set default record type for profiles.
